40K Tournament Rankings
What are the Australasian Tournament Rankings
Warhammer tournaments are regularly held to allow players to come
together to enjoy their hobby. For some, part of the fun is having bragging rights. Others may just like to
see their name on a list of the best players across Australia and New
Zealand. The Australasian Tournament Rankings (ATR) provide this,
showing how successful Warhammer 40K players have been over the last
twelve months.
In addition, players and collectors may be interested in how popular
or successful different Warhammer 40K armies are. This site
provides information on what tournaments have been held, how often each 40K army has been used at
tournaments, and the average success of the army, both Australia wide and
on a state by state basis.
The ATR are based on the results of tournaments held over the last 12
months. Thus players rankings will tend to go up and down as newer
events are added to rankings and events over 12 months drop off the
current rankings. There is also historical information on
the most successful players and armies for 2008 and 2007.
The method for calculating
the rankings has been changed for 2009 onwards. The weighting of
events has changed so that the Log32 weighting is used for all
categories. Additionally, your Rankings score is now based on your
best 4 results (previously it was your best 3).
The key thing to remember about these rankings is that this is a
seeding system and is not a measure of capability. It reflects how
successful players have been, not necessarily how good they are.
