Gosford Shield 2010 (40K)

The Gosford Shield (40K) is a one day Warhammer 40K tournament with 4 rounds of 1250 pts.  The overall winner is determined by not just how many games they win, but also by painting, army composition and sportsmanship. 

The Gosford Shield (40K) 2010 was held on Saturday Jan 16th at the Tuggerah Community Hall.  This is 5 minutes walk from Tuggerah train station and is just off the Sydney-Newcastle F3 freeway. 

The scoring breakdown was 60% battle, 16% sports, 16% composition and 8% painting.

Gosford Shield 2009 (40K)

One day 40K tournament, Saturday Jan 17th 2009

Tickets sold out a week and a half before the event, and we had 34 players taking part on the day.  These players came from the Central Coast, Cessnock, Sydney and Coffs Harbour.

This event was the equal 3rd largest 40K tournament held in NSW over the last 12 months (behind Lords of Terra and Leviathon), and was the largest one day 40K tournament held in NSW.  The event is also unique in being largely held outdoors.

The Gosford Shield (40K) was a 1250 pt, 4 round tournament.  The scoring breakdown was 60% battle, 16% Comp, 16% Sports and 8% Painting.

Gosford Shield 2008

One day 40K and WFB tournament, Saturday Jan 12th 2008

Tickets sold out for this event just after Christmas, and we had 14 x WFB players and 28 x 40K players take part in the event.

Warhammer Fantasy Battles

This event was scored out of 105 with Generalship (60), peer marked Comp (20), Sports (20) and Painting (5).  There was also painting prize for best painted, which was judged by Michael from Games Workshop head office.

This event was scored out of 100 with Generalship (60), Comp (15) marked by the Tournament Organiser, Sports (20) and Painting (5).  The 5 points for the painting score were marked against a checklist (see the players pack for details) based on the models (but not the overall impact of the army) and was marked by Darren.  There was also painting prize for best painted, which was judged by Michael from Games Workshop head office, which was based on the overall impact of the army and how good it looked as a whole.
